Billy Nunez Illustrates Stunning Androids with Detachable Visages
These Billy Nunez illustrations are without a doubt some of the most stunning images I’ve laid eyes on in any genre, but the fact that Nunez has managed to make cold sterile androids into something of extreme beauty says a lot about this American artist’s talent.
The most astonishing part about Billy Nunez’s work is its realistic depictions of seemingly impossible things. Sure, brilliant people currently are working on creating life-like robots, but it’s unlikely that they’ll be able to segment their faces in as sophisticated a manner as these Nunez renderings. The internal gears and components also seem plausible, giving Nunez’s images weight as viewers can imagine these beings in a tangible world.
More than likely, Billy Nunez first painted the faces of beautiful women, then digitally cut up each section before drawing in the mechanical parts.
